"A" marks the point where all forms above are made with brown paper bags. A more complete cladogram would have an additional branch at A which terminates at a paper bag. Technically, baggious may not refer to R3.4 but only to the clade above.
"B"marks a starburst, where some information is lacking. Of the three forms grouped under rectuberous, R3.27 is the most basic structure, or more common structure. It is placed inbetween the other two to indicate that it is more closely related to each of them than they are to each other. How do we show this without multiple brances from a single point?
